Non-Snow Day Socks

Here are the Vintage Fairy Light socks I made as my Christmas sock cast on.  They were completed before the end of December but I have taken ages to put in my afterthought heels.  This week much of the UK has been gripped by cold and icy weather and I was so excited by the prospect of snow I finished these socks in anticipation! Sure enough, our coastal location meant a very slight dusting and I had three very disappointed children – not to mention myself!  My feet have, however, been toasty and warm.

The yarn is by West Yorkshire Spinners and was their special limited edition Christmas colourway.  The wonderful Winwick Mum provided pattern support but because of limited time and excess Christmas gift knitting I used the standard pattern in my head with afterthought heels.

Although a Christmas colourway someone pointed out to me that they are very patriotic colours so perfect for 6-Nations rugby season!
